Over the years the Old Mutual Soweto Marathon has attracted many runners from all over the country and the world, and we have realised that a certain percentage of runners are unable to pay for accommodation due to circumstances beyond their control, be it economic reasons, or runners coming from disadvantaged background.
To reduce the burden, the organisers will be providing accommodation to the first 600 successful applicants, to enable them to be part of the race. Athletes will be accommodated at Morris Issacson High School opposite the June 16th Memorial Acre, sometimes called the Tsietsi Mashinini Memorial Acre in Soweto where the class of 1976 marched from, contributing to the Freedom we enjoy today.
